Image of Who we are

Our Inspiration

We draw inspiration for our farm from many different places and people especially organic no till market gardeners such as Elliot Coleman, Jean Martin Fortier and Charles Dowding. We also get our inspiration from permaculture practices, food forests and other people's project like Stefan Sobkowiak's permaculture orchard.

We aim to create a biodiverse and ecological small scale human powered farm showing that you can produce productive yields of annual vegetables, fruits, herbs, cut flowers and medicinal plants, whilst increasing biodiversity of habitat for animals and insects.

Our Ethos

We believe in local food systems that benefit our community and nature. That's why we grow organically and only sell produce that is organic or agroecological grown.
Fresh Seasonal Produce without imports - we aim to source from a few organic farms in Devon when we cannot grow enough at Amary Farm, the origin is transparent on our website.
We are proud to be a Better Food Trader member, as their standards align with our ethos.

Our Name

Which ever culture you look at the meaning of Amary (or Amari) it means - eternal, immortal, everlasting so it was very fitting for our sustainable ethics we practice on the farm.

Our Packaging

Re-use, recycle & compost!
Our packaging is chosen to have a minimal impact on the environment.
We re-use mushroom crates as the veg box which are a waste product of the catering trade, we collect these from various restaurants when we make deliveries.
Our film bags are made from a minimum 80% bio-based material and are fully home compostable (EN13432).
Punnets and paper bags are made from recycled paper and are compostable.
The labels are also made from biodegradable paper and can be composted.

Please leave out the crates and any packaging you want us to recycle/compost ahead of your next delivery.

Our Customers

We have many veg box delivery routes covering selected North Devon areas and supply our produce to a number of restaurants and retail stores. We pride ourselves in the low food miles of our produce.
