After months of paperwork our planning application (81086) was submitted at the start of this week and is now live on NDCC’s website! The application outlines an extension to the existing barn including a small farm shop and a sustainable, low impact dwelling. It also explains the essential need to live full-time on-site with the expanded growing and poultry at the farm and the lack of affordable housing in the close vicinity of Amary Farm.
We’ve worked with an ecologist to improve our biodiversity at Amary Farm with a further biodiversity net gain of 15% next year through planting more fruit trees, so benefitting both nature and our customers with local, nutritious organic fruit. Will has also been busy preparing extra outdoor growing space this autumn which is now in crop cover to aid soil fertility ahead of next year’s planting.
Thank you to all of you who signed our supporter register, we are immensely proud that over 125 people signed it and your comments have been submitted as part of our application. There is still an opportunity to support us by commenting directly on the planning application, before the consultation period closes on 3rd January, to demonstrate that the community is backing our business plan and application.
