We’ve recently completed a project at Amary Farm bringing us closer to our goal of becoming net zero. The project focussed on removing a petrol generator for pumping water from our borehole to a header tank which feeds the irrigation system on our off-grid farm by integrating the pump into our existing solar PV system.
Our project aims were aligned to the Net Zero investment priority of the Rural England Prosperity Fund - North Devon Council so we applied for funding and were successful in our application! Through the funding we were able to upgrade our existing solar PV system with a larger solar controller, energy storage batteries and link to the existing borehole pump via a long run mains cable.
Jon who managed the project and funding application said “As signatories of the Devon Climate Emergency Declaration it’s important for Amary Farm to look at ways to reduce our use of fossil fuels and CO2 emissions. So, we were delighted to get this funding, enabling us to implement this project.”
